USnagar police will take remand of Anurag Shankhdhar arrested in Dehradun, 44 cases are registered in 10 police stations of the district:


Anurag Shankhdhar, the main accused in the post-decade scholarship scam in Udhamsinghnagar, has been arrested by Dehradun Police. There are 44 cases registered against him in 10 police stations in the district, although in one case he was already arrested by the police. But he was wanted in many cases, so the police can soon take him on remand for interrogation.
The SIT had started investigation after finding irregularities in post-decade scholarship from 2011 to 2018. In the first phase of the investigation, the SIT had questioned the educational institutions from outside the states and the beneficiaries studying in them. On the basis of the evidence found during this period, the police had registered about 60 cases against the officers, employees, teachers and middlemen of the District Social Welfare Department. Along with more than three dozen accused, Anurag Shankhdhar, the then District Social Welfare Officer of Udhamsinghnagar in the year 2013-14, was also arrested by the police in December 2020 in a case of scholarship. After this, he had got an important role in the ongoing scholarship scam in Jaspur, Kashipur, Kunda, Bajpur, ITI, Sitarganj, Nanakmatta, Sitarganj, Kelkheda, Khatima in the district, after which the police registered 44 cases against him in the district.
According to police officials, on Saturday, Dehradun Police has arrested Anurag Shankhdhar in the scholarship scam. After the arrest in Dehradun, the district police is also preparing to take him on remand in the cases registered here. SP City Mamta Bohra said that 44 cases are registered against Anurag Shankhdhar in the district. An arrest has been made in one of these cases. While he is wanted in many cases. Told that soon the police will take them on remand.
