Why Senior Citizens are important in our country and life.
Wrinkles shows where the beautiful smile were : Happy Senior Citizen’s Day
A country’s true development is measured by how well and good it treats its senior citizens, women and children. Senior citizens, people above the age of 60 (65 in some fields), are some of the highly respected sections of a population and they deserve the kind of humble respect they get everywhere. World senior citizen’s day is celebrated on August 21st of each year. World senior citizen day aims to create awareness about the problems that our elderly are going through and also it talks about their contribution to the development of our society.
Older persons are highly experienced persons and can guide the young people on the right path. They can tell them the secrets of success in life and pitfalls that may be there.
They keep themselves busy in some light exercise, Yoga or hobby such as morning and evening walks, gardening, reading, social services, social gatherings, etc.
We have been told so many times before that you need to respect your elders. In fact, this is a phrase that most children hear throughout their lives! Well, Senior Citizen Day is all about respecting your elders. It is about honoring those people who have been on this earth longer than we have. Getting old is not easy.
It is rightly said, the presence of older people in family is must. Grandparents are a valuable resource because they have so many stories and experiences from their own lives to share. Grandparents also offer a link to a child’s cultural heritage and family history. Children understand more of who they are and where they come from through their connection with their grandparents.
This is why it is important to pay tribute to all seniors on this day. Always remember, love and respect old age people because one day you’ll be an old one too!
