Three faces of Uttarakhand again in Indian blind football team.

The Indian Blind football team will be participating at the three match Blind football friendly series against the England Youth team at the England FA Training centre St George’s Park, Burton upon Trent from 3rd to 9th May ’22. The matches are organized by the England Football Association as a part of the plans to develop young blind football talents for the future.

The Indian Blind Football Federation is preparing a national team for the next Asian Para Games in China in Oct’22 and the Asian Championship in India in Nov’22. This tour will provide greater international game exposure for our national blind football team playing against a top 10 ranked team and also train/ practice at one of the best football training facilities in the world.

Mr Sunil J Mathew, Sporting Director, Indian Blind Football Federation, Head Coach were announced the team list for the upcoming international friendly series against England. The final team was selected from one-week national team selection trial camp from the 1st -8th of March after which the preparatory training sessions will be on till the end of April’22. Around 20 blind football players from across the country were shortlisted for the selection camp and after a one weeks training camp at the academy base at Kochi, the best 7 B1 Blind players, 2 Goalkeepers were selected. The preparatory camp is ongoing at the Gamma Football Ground in Kadavanthra, Kochi and the sessions are being led by head coach Sunil J Mathew and his team of coaches

The Team consists of Shivam Negi (Uttarakhand) Pradeep Patel (Delhi) Suvendra Singh (Uttarakhand) Klingson Marak , Gabriel Nongrum (Meghalaya) Vishnubha Vaghela ( Gujarat) Dharmaram Dewasi ( Rajasthan) and Goal Keepers selected are Sujith P S ( Kerala) and Praful Likhitkar (MP). Sunil J Mathew (Head Coach) Keryn Seal (Asst.Coach, UK) and Naresh Singh Nayal(Goal Guide) M C Roy ( Manager ) will be accompanying the team to the UK .The tournament will be a great exposure trip to the players and help build the team for the future The team will be flying to London on 3rd May’22 and returning on 9th May’22.
