Often in the evening, people’s mind starts to eat something like spicy street food. The name of Kachori is included in one such famous street food. If you also want to try something healthy and spicy to satisfy your evening hunger, then make instant onion shortbread. Let us know what is its recipe.
Ingredients to make Onion Kachori-
-Oil
– half tsp cumin
– tsp coriander seeds
– Saunf (Fennel)
– Hing (Asafoetida)
– finely chopped 1 chili
– half tsp ginger paste
-2 onions
– tsp chili powder
– 1/4 tsp turmeric
– 1/4 tsp garam masala
-amchur powder
– 1/4 tsp sugar
-Salt
– half cup besan
-2 tbsp green coriander
-2 cups flour
-1 tbsp rava or suji
-2 tbsp ghee
Method to make Onion Shortbread-
To make onion shortbread, first prepare its dough. For this, mix two cups of flour, one tablespoon of semolina, a little salt and ghee in a vessel. Now add water little by little and knead the dough and leave it like this for some time to set.
Now, you prepare for the filling. For this, put oil in a pan and heat it. Now add cumin, asafoetida, fennel and coriander and let it crackle. After this, add green chili and ginger paste and fry for a few seconds. Now add chopped onions and fry it for some time. When the color of the onion changes, slow the gas and mix it by adding turmeric, red chili, garam masala, mango powder, salt and sugar. Keep stirring it lightly. Now add gram flour to it and fry it well. Lastly add green coriander in it and switch off the gas. Your stuffing is ready. Let it cool completely before use. After this you take a little dough and make it round. Now flatten it and keep 1 tbsp of prepared onion stuffing in the center.
Now you join the edges together and close it. Now after flattening it lightly, put oil in a pan and let it heat up. When the oil becomes medium hot, put the prepared shortbread in it. Now you cook it on medium flame till it gets cooked well from both the sides. Remove on tissue paper. Finally, serve onion kachori with green chutney and tamarind chutney.
