Nepal military delegation visited IMA:


A high level delegation of Nepal Army visited the Indian Military Academy (IMA) on Saturday. The nine-member delegation, led by Nepal Army’s Director General (Training) Major General Niranjan Kumar Shrestha, which reached IMA included officers from reputed military institutions of Nepal. The Commander of the Academy, Lt. General Harinder Singh also honored him by presenting a memento.

High officials of the Nepali Army inquired about the pre-military training being given to the cadets of the country and abroad at the Indian Military Academy. Apart from the country, cadets from 30 friendly countries including Nepal are given training in the academy. So far 148 cadets of Nepal have passed out from IMA and joined Nepal Army as officers. General Rukmangud Katwal, who was a cadet of 1969 batch, and General Chhatraman Singh Gurung of 1973 batch have also reached the rank of Chief of Army Staff in Nepal Army. Who had also arrived a few years ago to participate in the passing out parade of the IMA as a reviewing officer.

Military officers of Nepal Army also interacted with Nepal cadets undergoing training at IMA. Earlier, he also paid tribute to the martyred army officers at the War Memorial. Also signed the visitor’s book of the Academy.
