ITBP climbs Balbala peak of Uttarakhand:


Dehradun, Sep 7 (PTI) A team of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on September 4 scaled the 21050 feet high Balbala Peak in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. An ITBP official said that for the first time an Indian team has climbed this peak. Earlier, in 1947, an expedition team from Switzerland had conquered the peak. A seven-member mountaineering team led by ITBP Assistant Commandant Bhim Singh had started its expedition on August 7 from Joshimath.
On September 4, a team of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) scaled the 21050 feet high Balbala Peak located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
