HDFC Bank Ludhiana half marathon: Anurag, Karanpreet grab top honours

Ludhiana: Anurag Hundal clocked 1:26:13s to clinch the top position in the men’s open category of the HDFC Bank Ludhiana Half Marathon at Sarabha Nagar Market on Sunday.
Joga Singh with a timing of 1:26:17s finished second in the men’s open section, while Manjeet Singh Lamba (1:36:29s) finished third.
Karanpreet Kaur (2:22:31s) won the top honours in the women’s open category of the 21km run. She was the only one in the women’s section, who was able to complete her race within the cutoff time. The other women, who missed the cutoff time, were not included in the ranking list.
In the men’s 10km open category, Navdeep Singh (00:40:17s) won the first position, while Vineet Bhatia (00:41:02s) and Palvinder Rajput (00:42:17s) finished second and third, respectively.
The theme of the event was ‘the run against drug abuse’ and over 500 runners participated in various run categories. Apart from timed 21km and 10km runs, there was a 5km fun run.
The event was organised by Lakshya Sports Club in association with Thrill Zone.
Dr Kaustubh Sharma, IPS (IG Ludhiana Range) flagged off the race, while Rajat Gulati, cluster head, HDFC Bank, Bhupinder Behel, cluster head, HDFC Bank and Amandeep Singh Bhullar,
regional marketing manager, HDFC Bank, were present on the occasion.
