Earthquake tremors in Uttarakhand, magnitude 4.6 on Richter scale:
Earthquake tremors have been felt once again in Uttarakhand. An earthquake struck 31 km west southwest (WSW) of Joshimath at 5:58 am today. According to the National Center for Seismology, the magnitude of this earthquake was 4.6 on the Richter scale. However, so far no casualties have been reported due to the earthquake. During this, strong tremors of earthquake were felt in the districts of Chamoli, Pauri, Almora etc. of Uttarakhand. However, due to the tremors of the earthquake, panic spread among the people and they came out of their homes.
Earlier in August, an earthquake of 3.8 magnitude struck Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. Whereas on July 24, tremors of earthquake were felt in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand late night. The magnitude of the earthquake was measured at 3.4 on the Richter scale. Before Uttarkashi, an earthquake of 3.7 magnitude was felt in Pithoragarh, another hill district of Uttarakhand, on June 28. Then the epicenter of this earthquake was found 55 km away from Pithoragarh.
