In the year 2020, the then SSP Arun Mohan Joshi had ordered an inquiry against Inspector Mahesh Joshi. The investigation against him is still going on. Meanwhile, on Friday, he has been made Kotwal Rishikesh. On Saturday, DIG Neeru Garg called the matter controversial and sought an investigation report from the district police.
this is the case
On December 6, 2017, the then SSP Nivedita Kukreti was returning from Haridwar. They found a jam on the way, came to know that there was duty of Special Category Inspector Ashok Kumar, but he was not present. The SSP ordered him to appear on the line through RT set itself. After this, Ashok Kumar neither reached the police station nor the police line. It was learned that Ashok Kumar Sharma was already absent since December 6.
In October 2019, an oral complaint regarding Sharma’s son came to the then DIG Arun Mohan Joshi. When he inquired about Ashok Kumar, he came to know that he had appeared on the line, but till now neither there is any entry in his line nor the police station knows anything. The departmental inquiry of the matter was handed over to CO Dalanwala.
In the investigation, it was found that the police station Raiwala showed going to the police line from Raiwala in the absence of Ashok Kumar. Whereas, Ashok Kumar neither made any entry in the line nor gave any information about his absence. Ashok Kumar also retired on 31 January 2020. As soon as he disappeared in this way, he took the salary of about 25 months from the police department.
Now a notice of no work no pay was sent to Ashok Kumar. Along with this, the negligence of the then station in-charge Inspector Mahesh Joshi and Munshi Manoj Kumar has come to the fore. Mahesh Joshi did not inform the police officials about the line departure and the absence of Ashok Kumar. A departmental inquiry was ordered against both of them in this case.
