Dehradun: Eight-year-old boy working in the house beaten with belt, landlord arrested:
A case of child abuse has come to the fore in Dehradun. An eight-year-old child working in the house was thrashed with a belt by a man alleging theft. The child, who was frightened by his beating, ran away from the house and hid under the car in the neighbourhood. When the police got information, he was rescued and treated. After this the police arrested the accused landlord.
The matter is of Lakhibagh Chowki area. A person had informed the control room that a child was hiding under their car. The baby is crying too. SI Pankaj Kumar reached the spot with women constables. When the child was taken out from under the car, the police were also blown away. Belt marks were lying on the child’s waist and stomach. The whole waist had turned red from the beating. The child told that he wipes the broom at Lakhibagh, resident of Jasmeet Singh Bhatia.
The child told the police that on Tuesday morning Jasmeet was accusing him of theft. When he refused, Jasmeet started hitting him with a belt. After beating him with the belt for a long time, he escaped from the spot and hid under the car.
The child was handed over to the child welfare committee
In this case, a case was registered against Jasmeet Singh on behalf of SI Pankaj Kumar under assault, Child Labor Prohibition Act and Child Protection Act. After some time the accused was arrested from his house. The accused was produced in the court, from where he has been sent to jail. The child has been handed over to the Child Welfare Committee after first aid.
The child’s mother lives in Lucknow
When the police took information from the child, it came to know that his mother had left him here a few months ago. Since then he was working as a broom wipe at Jasmeet’s house. His mother lives in Lucknow. Kotwal Ritesh Sah told that in this case a team is being sent to Lucknow so that his mother can be traced.
