Anticipatory bail in a rape case for LJP MP Prince Raj
Lok Janshakti Party MP Prince Raj on Saturday was granted anticipatory bail by a Delhi court. Special judge Vikas Dhull granted bail to the accused politician on a bond of Rs 1 lakh and a surety equal to that amount.
Raj, who is the nephew of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, and cousin of Chirag Paswan, is a Member of Parliament from Samastipur in Bihar.
An FIR was filed against Prince Raj on September 9 on the directions of a court. The woman, who claims she was an LJP worker, has accused Raj of raping her while she was unconscious.
In the application, Raj’s advocate Nitesh Rana claimed the alleged victim and her male friend were extorting money and blackmailing his client since 2020.
While granting the anticipatory bail, the court told Prince that he has to appear and co-operate with the police whenever they call him for investigation.
